Saša J. Mächtig is one of the most important Slovenian and Yugoslav industrial designers and a key figure of modernist design.
Trained as an architect in Ljubljana, he later taught industrial design and dedicated his career to shaping everyday urban life through thoughtful, functional design.He is best known for the K67 kiosk, a modular structure designed in 1966 that became an icon of modernist and socialist design.
With more than 7,500 units produced and used as newsstands, food kiosks, flower shops, and public infrastructure, K67 remains a symbol of adaptability and community. Its cultural significance is cemented by its inclusion in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York.
